Spent 2 nights at hotel in May , staff very helpful . Room well decorated but reception needs a facelift. . Not manned and no reflection on the rooms . Front of hotel looked unloved . Great position on the harbour . Food was lovely but a bit pricey and resturaunt needs updating ( carpet old and grubby )
The Marine doesn't look much from the outside. Honestly the sign needs replacing and a good external clean would do it the world of good. However. Inside we couldn't fault it. We went for dinner as "walk-ins". We had the restaurant to ourselves and we did wonder just how good it would be. The young lass who took our order was brilliant, answered ask our questions and queries. Made suggestions when asked. Just a great ambassador jfor the hotel . . The food was fantastic. The hot dishes were piping hot. The salad was an excellent mix of ingredients. Ignore the outside and walk through the door. It's worth it.
I have never in my life met somebody as kind hearted as the owner Jim. I was up in Buckie for an interview and was running slightly late. Jim was kind enough to offer me a lift there. He then offered to take me to my next Interview in Elgin (a good 30 minute drive from Buckie)! The room was clean and had a beautiful view over the sea. If you're looking for excellent customer service Marine Hotel is where you will find it!
Great location, clean room and decent price. What's not to like? The only downside was a booked breakfast at 8am which never materialised as no staff were around in the morning when I left at 9am which was a bit odd. Otherwise totally great.
Had a lovely over night stop here. Lovely clean hotel. Room with sea view was bright, clean & comfy. Lovely meal in a friendly pleasant atmosphere. Jim & Lennie couldn't have been more welcoming. Will definite return if we're ever up this way again & would have no problem recommending it.
Brilliant, ghost town but nice staff and everyone was friendly! Loads of places to eat and a co op in the area.
It was our anniversary and we boojed a table and when we arrived they gad a reserved table with a tablecloth with red heart sprinkles which was a really nice touch the service was really good and the meal was excellent although a bit too much for us as we are older
The hotel was a little bit tired but it is well looked after, there's parking outside and it's right on the sea front, rooms were comfortable and clean, there's a restaurant down stairs which is meant to serve good food, I've not tried it myself but I've heard it's good, I would stay here again.
